Guillaume de Lornay

Guillaume de Lornay (* in the 14th century ; † October 31, 1408 ) was Bishop of Geneva from 1388 to 1408 .

Life

Guillaume comes from a noble family in the county of Geneva . His parents were Jean, Herr von Bonatrait and Agnès de Ternie. He is recorded as a student of canon law in Avignon in 1378 and was canon in Geneva . Clement VII , whose chaplain and chamberlain he was, awarded him canons in Autun , Elne and Langres as well as the archdeaconate in Carpentras . In 1388 he was appointed Bishop of Geneva.
