The Guiting-Guiting is the highest peak of the Philippine province of Romblon . It reaches an altitude of 2058 m and is located in the center of the island of Sibuyan , which is also known as the pearl of the Sibuyan Sea . The name guiting-guiting means sawtooth in the language of the locals . The first documented ascent took place in May 1982.
The peak of guiting-guiting is at the point where the borders of the municipalities of Cajidiocan , Magdiwang and San Fernando meet. The entire island range in which the guiting-guiting is located has been under nature protection since the Mount Guiting-guiting Natural Park was set up in 1996.
