Gulf Traveler ( Arabic مسافر الخليج, DMG musāfir al-ḫalīǧ ) was a subsidiary of Gulf Air in Bahrain and only offered economy flights.
history
Gulf Traveler was founded on June 1, 2003 as a subsidiary of Gulf Air and is part of a three-year plan implemented there to restructure the airline. Gulf Traveler was intended for the service of routes in which there is only a small interest for first or business class passengers. The airline's maiden flight took place on June 13, 2003 from Abu Dhabi to Jeddah . The airline made history when a female pilot was hired for the first time in this region. Like Gulf Air , Gulf Traveler was run by the three emirates of Abu Dhabi , Oman and Bahrain . However, only Abu Dhabi got out of this consortium in 2005, then Oman Air in May 2007, so that Bahrain became the sole owner of the airline. This caused the fleet to return to Gulf Air and flight operations to be discontinued.
aims
Gulf Traveler connected Bahrain and Muscat to destinations on the Arabian Peninsula, Iran , India , Pakistan , Nepal and Indonesia .
fleet
The Gulf Traveler fleet consisted of six Boeing 767-300ERs .
