Gunnar Kvaran

Gunnar Kvaran (born January 18, 1944 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic cellist and chamber musician .

At the age of 20, Gunnar Kvaran came to the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen in 1964 , where he studied with the Danish cellist Erling Blöndal Bengtsson . He later studied with René Flachot in Basel and Paris . Gunnar Kvaran became professor for violoncello at the Reykjavík Music School in 1979 and has been teaching in this capacity at the Icelandic Art Academy since 1998 .
