Gunnar Peter (* 1979 ) is a German football official and former player.

career

Peter played as a wide receiver for the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes from 1998 to 2009 . He had once made the leap from Kiel's junior division to the men's team. In 2001 he became European champion with the German national team. At the World Cup in 2003, he reached third place with the selection and was the only player in the German squad who belonged to a regional league team at the time. In 2006 Peter rose to the top German league, the GFL , with the Kiel team, and in 2008 and 2009 he was German runner-up with the team.

Even during his playing career, Peter worked for the operating company of the Kiel team. He resigned from competitive sports at the end of the 2009 game year and was a co-founder of Football Vermarktungs GmbH & Co. KG in Kiel , which took over the management of the game from the previous marketing company and Peter became its managing director. He steered head coach Patrick Esume to Kiel, under whose direction the team became German champions for the first time in 2010. In October 2018 Peter had to file for insolvency for the Kieler Football Vermarktungs GmbH & Co. KG , whereupon the Bundesliga game operations were again subordinated to the main club ASC Kiel. As the first chairman of the ASC, Peter was also responsible for leading the team after this step.
