Gunther Martin Göttsche

Gunther Martin Göttsche (* 1953 in Bad Oldesloe ) is a German church musician and composer .

Göttsche was born into a family of musicians. He is the son of Heinz Markus Göttsche . He studied school music, composition and classical philology at the Mannheim University of Music and the University of Mannheim. He then studied church music at the Spandau church music school in Berlin, where he passed the A-exam in 1981 .

After a first position from 1981 to 1987 as district choirmaster in Aalen , he became regional church music director of the Ev. Lutheran regional church in Braunschweig. From 1992 to 2013 he was director of the church music training center in Schlüchtern . In addition, he taught from 2008 to 2013 at the University of Church Music in Heidelberg . From 2013 to 2018 he was a church musician for the German-speaking Protestant community at the Church of the Redeemer in Jerusalem.
