The Gunung Kapalatmada (German mountain Kupalatmada , also Gunung Kaplamada , Gunung Kapalamadan or Gulung Kepala Madan ) is the highest mountain on the Indonesian Moluccan island of Buru . Altitudes vary between 2729 m, 2700  m , 2428 m, 1890 m and 1879 m.

It is located far in the west of the island, in the north only 12 km from the coast. All slopes are heavily forested. 23 km to the west, on the west coast of the island, is the closest settlement, Fogi . The summit is called Kuku Gheghan . Politically, it belongs to the Buru district in Maluku province . The Gunung Kapalatmada makes Buru the eighth highest island in (pure) Indonesia, fourteenth highest island in Asia and thirty-fourth highest island worldwide. It is one of the hundred most prominent as well as one of the hundred most dominant mountains in Asia. It ranks 11th among the most dominant mountains in Indonesia, 21st of the most prominent mountains in Southeast Asia and is both the second most prominent and the second most dominant mountain in the Moluccas, behind the Gunung Binaiya .
