Gustaf Larson

Erik Gustav Larson (born July 8, 1887 in Vintrosa , † July 4, 1968 in Båstad ) was a Swedish engineer and entrepreneur.

Life

Larson was born in Vintrosa in 1887 and attended secondary school in Örebro and graduated from the Royal Technical University in Stockholm with a degree in mechanical engineering . While working for the Swedish ball bearing manufacturer SKF , he met the local sales manager Assar Gabrielsson , with whom he founded the automobile manufacturer Volvo in 1926 . He was Vice President of the company until 1952. In his private life, Larson was married to Elin Octavia Fröberg from 1918 until his death, with four children from this marriage: Erik, Anders, Gunnel and Britt.
