The Gustav Landauer Library Witten ( GLBW ) is a special library in Witten .
history
The Gustav Landauer Library was founded in 2011 in the Sociocultural Center Despite Everything within the information store at the time . The name refers to the theorist and thought leader of anarchism Gustav Landauer . The basis of the collection was a large book donation on the 100th anniversary of the death of the Russian writer and anarcho-pacifist Lev Nikolajewitsch Tolstoy in 2010. Further book donations followed. In 2012, the Despite Allem organized in cooperation with the German-Israeli Society Witten a lecture by the editor of Landauer's Selected Writings , Siegbert Wolf , on " Philosophy and Judaism in Gustav Landauer", as part of which also a book exhibition of the Gustav Landauer Library about life and the work of Gustav Landauer was presented.
In December 2014, Gustav Landauer Library celebrated its third anniversary with a weekend of lectures on various aspects of life Gustav Landauer of Tilman leather , Corinna Kaiser and Frank Pfeiffer .
Orientation of the collection
The Gustav Landauer Library's collection focuses on publications that have been distributed, read and discussed within the left-wing alternative spectrum . There are u. a. the topics of anti-fascism , gender , free education , peace policy , ecology , economy , political developments in the various countries of the world and the teachings of classical and current theorists.
