Gustav Conradi
Gustav Conradi ( August 15, 1852 in Berlin - March 15, 1926 there ) was a German theater actor .
Life
Conradi, the son of a businessman, began his theater career in the USA, where he stepped on the boards in Milwaukee without having had any dramaturgical training (1876), then he worked in New York and came to Chemnitz in 1878, whereupon Halle, at the Praise Theater in Breslau, also worked in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Aachen and Magdeburg, and in 1896 followed a call to the Court Theater in Darmstadt , where he has worked in the comic field since that time.
Conradi was an actor who had a not insignificant comic strength, but also humor and emotional tones. The figures he portrayed appeared clearly and definitely drawn and enjoyed the most approving reception. From the series of his characteristic achievements, particular mention should be made of “Zettel” in A Midsummer Night's Dream , “Landlord” in Minna von Barnhelm , “Weigel” in Mein Leopold , “Registrator auf Reisen”, “The old Heinecke”, “Bureaukrat” etc.
In 1915 he played at the Lessing Theater in Berlin.
