action
16-year-old Billie, who has a trusting relationship with her mother Jane, is surprised by the latter when she announces that she would like to undergo a gender reassignment procedure and take the name James. Because of the burdens involved, Billie is said to live with her father Tom for a year; only on a Tuesday afternoon, they want to see each other. The 52 Tuesday episodes show the progress of gender reassignment, the difficulties associated with it (testosterone intolerance), the emotional cooling of the mother-daughter relationship and Billie's steps towards sexual self-discovery .
