Gustav Schmidt (born August 4, 1863 in Altstadt-Waldenburg , † December 30, 1924 in Chemnitz ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Schmidt completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter and had been working in Chemnitz since 1890. From around 1908 until his death he was the cashier of the consumer association in Chemnitz.

From 1909 until the abolition of the constitutional monarchy in Saxony , he represented the 14th rural constituency in the second chamber of the Saxon state parliament . As a result, he was also a member of the Saxon People's Chamber during the early phase of the Weimar Republic in 1919/20 .
