Gustave Ruiz
Gustave-Raphaël Ruiz (born March 6, 1840 in Nevers , † after 1877 ) was a French composer .
Gustave Ruiz came to the Paris Conservatory after 1855 , where he a. a. studied counterpoint and fugue with Simon Leborne . He received an honorable mention in the competition for the Prix de Rome in 1863. Further attempts to win one of the Rome awards and the associated study trip failed.
Then Ruiz traveled to Italy at his own expense. Here in 1870 his opera Orio Soranzo was performed in the Teatro La Fenice in Venice . In December 1877, the performance of his opera Wallenstein at the theater of Bologna followed. Nothing is known about Ruiz's further life.
