Geographical location
Bömighausen is located in the western part of northern Hesse in the northeast foothills of the Rothaargebirge in the mountain region Upland not far from the interface with the Sauerland . It is located in the Diemelsee Nature Park about ten kilometers east of the core town of Willingen and about eight kilometers west-northwest of the central town of Korbach in northern Hesse (both as the crow flies ). Bömighausen is traversed by the Neerdar , a tributary of the Wild Aa , approximately in a north-west-south-east direction . The federal road 251 leads through between Neerdar and Rhena , from which the state road 3437 branches off to Alleringhausen , and the railway line Wabern-Brilon-Wald . There is a campsite by a small lake .
history
As part of the regional reform in Hesse , Bömighausen was merged with four other places on December 31, 1971 to form the new municipality of Upland . This was again powerful state law on 1 January 1974 with the municipality of Willingen for greater community Willingen (Upland) together . Local districts were formed for all former municipalities . Willingen became the seat of the municipal administration.
religion
The local evangelical parish belongs to the Rhena parish. The Protestant church was built in 1971–72. The school building was built in 1929 according to plans by the Korbach district architect Heinrich Rappold.
