After Welleringhausen, Hemmighausen is the second smallest district in the municipality of Willingen (Upland) in the northern Hessian district of Waldeck-Frankenberg .
Geographical location
Hemmighausen is located in the Diemelsee Nature Park a little west-southwest above the confluence of the small Mülmecke in the Diemel . The mountains in the vicinity include the Hohe Egge ( 604.9 m ) and Sähre ( 726 m ). The country road 3082 ( Deisfeld - Eimelrod ) leads east past the village , from which the district road 66 leads as a short spur road into the village. The Diemelsteig and the Uplandsteig meet in the vicinity .
history
The small place formed with the two neighboring villages Eimelrod and Deisfeld an exclave of the Itter rule in the area of the county Waldeck . It came to the Landgraviate of Hesse after the noble lords of Itter died out with half of the Itter rule in the 14th century , to Hesse-Darmstadt at the end of the Thirty Years War and to Prussia in 1867 .
As part of the regional reform in Hesse , Hemminghausen was incorporated into the neighboring municipality of Usseln on July 1, 1970 . On December 31, 1971, these other four places was the new municipality Upland together . This was again powerful state law on 1 January 1974 with the municipality of Willingen for greater community Willingen (Upland) together . Local districts were formed for all former municipalities . Willingen became the seat of the municipal administration.
