geography

location

The Sähre is located in the north-western part of North Hesse in the Upland, the north-eastern outlet of the Rothaar Mountains. It rises in the Diemelsee Nature Park a few kilometers east of the Willingen core town between the Willingen villages of Eimelrod with Hemmighausen in the north-east and Usseln in the south. Your southern neighbor is the Easter head . The Sähre is passed in the west by the upper reaches of the Diemel . The Mülmecke rises on its south- eastern flank and strives towards the Diemel through Eimelrod.

Mountain height

In common maps only a trigonometric point of "726.0" is shown for the height. This comes from old measuring table sheets , where originally only "726" were specified at the transition from the heather to the forest, to which a ". 0" was then added, apparently without a more precise measurement. The contour lines in current map services show that the mountain noticeably exceeds the 740 contour line.

Natural allocation

The Sähre belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Süderbergland (No. 33) in the main unit Rothaargebirge (with Hochsauerland ) (333) and in the subunit Upland (333.9) to the natural area Inneres Upland (333.90). To the east, the landscape leads into the natural area Flechtdorfer Höckerflur (332.60), which belongs to the sub-unit Vorupländer (Adorfer) Bucht (332.6) in the main unit Ostsauerländer Gebirgsrand (333) .

Traffic and walking

The federal road 251 leads south past the Sähre beyond the Osterkopf through Usseln , and the Uplandbahn with the Usseln train station runs directly beyond the village . District road  65 branches off from the road in the village and leads a little west of the mountain to Rattlar . A little to the east of the Sähre, Landesstraße  3082 branches off from the B 251 , which runs northwest to Eimelrod and then on to Deisfeld ; Between the two villages, the K 66 branches off as a spur road to Hemmighausen , northeast of the mountain . For example, starting at these traffic axes, the mountain can be hiked - in the high areas on forest paths and paths.
