In early June 2018, the 70th court of the Labor Court in Rio de Janeiro ruled that Scarpa would continue to be under contract with Fluminense.

On June 21, a transfer offer of six million euros to his former club Fluminense was announced, which was made by Benfica Lisbon . In addition to the transfer fee to FLU, Scarpa is to receive a payment of a further three million euros.

After another court ruling on June 25, 2018, Scarpa was free to choose which club he would like to join in the future on a free transfer. Scarpa decided to stay with Palmeiras.
