Good Grubnow

The Gutshaus Grubnow is a historic mansion in Neuenkirchen , located northwest on the island of Rügen between the Lebbiner Bodden and the Tetzitzer See.

history

The origin of the Slavic place name is unknown. The place belonged to the parish of the Jakobikirche in Stralsund until the 16th century . Around 1580 a family from Paselich bought the place on Liddow.

The manor house can be traced back to the year 1836 using existing maps. The former position of the building has changed extensively over the course of time and is today characterized by the manor house, which was built around 1920 for the son of the knight Erich Kroos - who then lived in the neighboring Lebbin estate.

After the Second World War, the manor house accommodated up to 50 refugees, most of whom came from East Prussia and many of whom found a new home on Rügen.

With the exception of a small farm building, the former stables and farm buildings have now been completely demolished, so that only the manor house of this formerly extensive complex has been preserved.

The Grubnow manor is a protected monument and is listed under No. 338 in the list of monuments of the Rügen district. It was renovated by the owners in 2004 and 2005 and now contains holiday apartments.

The manor house was used for filming the ZDF series "Hallo Robbie".
