The Kerstenhof estate (also called Gut Kerstenshof , Estonian Kärstna mõis ) was an estate in today's Estonian village of Kärstna in the Fellin district . According to the historical division, the estate belonged to the Parish Helmet (Helme) in the Viljandimaa / Fellin district.

history

Kerstenhof was founded in 1678 and was initially owned by various Baltic German families from the Baltic nobility. From 1740 the estate belonged to the Anrep family , u. a. the researcher Reinhold von Anrep-Elmpt , his father, the Russian general Joseph Karl Anrep-Elmpt , and his father Reinhold von Anrep . A memorial to Reinhold von Anrep, who fell at the Battle of Mohrungen during the Fourth Coalition War , stands near the Kerstenhof manor .

The present mansion was built in the middle of the 18th century and rebuilt in the 20th century, but soon afterwards it was destroyed by fire. The building in its present form was designed by Otto Wildau from Riga . The park belonging to the manor house was laid out in 1904 by Walter von Engelhardt .
