The Linstow manor house in Linstow is a listed manor house in Linstow , a district of the Dobbin-Linstow municipality in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

location

The Krakower Chaussee leads from the northwest into the village and branches off at the level of the manor house as Landstrasse 204 to the northwest. To the south, Hofstrasse leads over the Nebel , at the end of which is the building with a surrounding park.

History and use

The exact construction period of the building has not yet been recorded. However, it is certain that it was built after the Thirty Years War and was rebuilt around 1880. The client was the von Linstow family , who had ruled the region since 1281. This era did not end until 1735 with Adam von Linstow. From 1825 the Grand Ducal Chamber took over the property, which it leased. Christian Benkendorff is known as the last tenant in 1945. As part of the Soviet occupation zone , the owners were expropriated and the building was used for resettlers, including 73 families from Volhynia , who each received around 10 hectares of land. During the GDR era , the building was then used as a town hall and sales point. After the fall of the Wall , the building stood empty after 1990 and did not change hands until 2006. It has been used as a hotel with a restaurant and café since 2009. In the surrounding park, among other things, there are two Weymouth pines for around 135 years .

Building description

The structure was essentially made of reddish brick on a surrounding base made of field stones . A single-storey , 11- axis building with a central entrance was created. A two-story gable with a mansard roof rises above it .
