Guy Caussemille

Guy Caussemille (born July 9, 1930 in Marseille ) is a former French football player .

Career

Caussemille appeared in 1941 and thus during the Second World War in the youth team of the southern French club Olympique Marseille . After a stopover at city rivals Atlantic Club , he returned to Olympique in 1946, where he continued to belong to the juniors; some time later he made the leap to the reserve team of the club, which competed in the national second division during the 1949/50 season. In the course of the 1950/51 season he made the leap into the first selection. At a time when substitutions and substitutions were not yet possible, the midfielder reached his first division debut on May 20, 1951 in a 3-3 draw against Girondins Bordeaux .

From autumn 1951 on, Caussemille was able to establish himself as a regular in the first team for some time, but fell out of this again after the turn of the year 1951/52. In a 2-0 defeat against OSC Lille on September 28, 1952, he ran for the last of 17 times in the top French league, with a total of two goals. The then 22-year-old tried hard to continue his career in reserve; although he remained loyal to this until 1956, he did not succeed in returning to paid football.
