Guy Jarrosson (born March 9, 1911 in Lyon , † August 20, 1994 ibid) was a French politician. From 1951 to 1962 he was a member of the National Assembly .

Jarrosson was born in the 6th arrondissement of Lyon and grew up there as the son of a respected family. First he attended school in Lyon, but then moved to Paris , where he obtained his Abitur. This was followed by a degree in political science, after which he worked as an editor of the magazine L'Alerte . After the outbreak of World War II , he was mobilized in 1940 and later recognized for his war effort at the local level. From 1947 he worked as a stockbroker in Lyon . In the same year he succeeded as a member of the Parti républicain de la liberté , which a little later in the Center national des indépendants et paysans , the entry into the city council of Lyon. In 1949 he also moved to the General Council of the Rhône department . After two unsuccessful candidacies in June and October 1946, Jarrosson ran for a third time in parliamentary elections in 1951. He was able to enter parliament for the Rhône department and was re-elected there in 1956. In 1958, he voted for the powers of Charles de Gaulle , which ushered in the establishment of the Fifth Republic . As a result, there were early parliamentary elections in 1958, in which the proportional was replaced by majority voting and Jarrosson consequently had to assert himself in a constituency. Although he missed the direct victory in the first ballot with around 49 percent of the votes, he was able to achieve it with about 65 percent in the second round. Despite this result, he was voted out of office in 1962, with a clear result, because he opposed giving up the Algerian war . From 1973 onwards he was Deputy Mayor of Lyon. He gave up this position when he retired from the city council in 1977. Jarrosson then largely withdrew from politics until his death in 1994.
