Guy Oliver Nickalls

Guy Oliver "Gully" Nickalls (born April 4, 1899 in Wycombe , † April 26, 1974 in London ) was a British rower .

The son of the Olympic champion Guy Nickalls won the two-man competition with Richard Lucas at the Henley Royal Regatta 1920. In the same year Nickalls and Lucas were among the eighth of the Leander Club , which won the silver medal behind the US at the 1920 Olympic Games. Eighth won. Nickalls and Lucas won again at Henley in 1922 after losing the final in 1921.

Nickalls, who studied at Magdalen College in Oxford, competed three times for Oxford in the Boat Race against Cambridge from 1921 to 1923 . In 1923 he was president of the Oxford boat in the only Oxford victory between 1920 and 1936. In 1928 Nickalls competed with the eighth of the Thames Rowing Club at the 1928 Olympic Games and, like eight years earlier, won silver behind the US eight.
