Guy Rolfe

Guy Rolfe (real Edwin Arthur Rolfe ; born December 27, 1911 in Kilburn (London) , † October 19, 2003 in Los Angeles ) was a British actor .

Rolfe, who played leading roles in the 1940s during the heyday of British films, later gained fame in the 1990s through the film series around the Puppet Master .

Life

After graduating from school, he tried his hand at boxing and racing before turning to acting in 1936. The tall actor with serious facial features could (after two minor roles) be seen in leading roles from 1947 and in character roles from the mid-1950s. He was employed in a variety of genres, from thrillers about romances to historical films ; he starred alongside Elizabeth Taylor , Tyrone Power , Joan Fontaine and Charles Laughton .

Later he was able to achieve cult status in fan circles through his participation in horror films . So played Rolfe in four sequels of the film Puppet Master (1989) Andre Toulon , who was previously played by William Hickey and Steve Welles.

He lived in Spain for several years and was childless with his colleagues Jane Aird (until her death in 1993) and Margaret Allworthy (until his death).
