Gwendoline Delbos-Corfield (born March 8, 1977 in Solihull , United Kingdom ) is a French politician ( EELV ). As part of the European elections in 2019 Delbos-Corfield won a mandate and has since become a member of the Ninth European Parliament . She is a member of the Greens / EFA group , of which she is also the deputy group chair.

Life

Youth and education

Gwendoline Delbos-Corfield was born on March 8, 1977 in Solihull, United Kingdom, but grew up with her family in the Paris suburb of Ivry-sur-Seine . After completing school, she moved to Grenoble to study at the Institut d'études politiques . Her thesis, accompanied by the feminist historian Mathilde Dubesset , is entitled “Mettre en scène, c'est aussi mettre hors scène: trois femmes investissent la Cité par le théâtre” (in English: “To direct also means to close the stage move: three women take over the city through the theater ”).

Political commitment

Delbos-Corfield joined the French Greens ( Les Verts ) in 2005 . In the European elections in 2009 she led the campaign for the list connection (and later founding of a party) Europe Écologie Les Verts for the Euroregion Southeast, as well as for the candidate Michèle Rivasi . In 2011 she was elected to the party's executive committee at the EELV party conference in La Rochelle, where she was responsible for the “Regions and Europe” department. In 2012 Delbos-Corfield was elected to the Executive Committee of the European Green Party .

In addition to her national commitment to the French Greens, she was a candidate for the Grenoble City Council on the Green List in 2008. In 2010 she ran in the regional elections of the Greens list for the now dissolved Rhône-Alpes region and was elected for a five-year term. She was a regional councilor for the region from 2010 to 2015.

In 2019, her party nominated her for the 2019 European elections list . It received 12th place on the joint list of Europe Écologie-Les Verts (EELV), Alliance écologiste indépendante (AEI) and Régions et peuples solidaires . The joint list won 13.43 percent and thus 13 of the 79 French mandates, including Delbos-Corfield. Since then she has been a member of the ninth European Parliament and joined the Greens / EFA group . At the constituent meeting of the group, the members elected Delbos-Corfield as one of 7 deputy group chairmen. She is also a member of the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality for her group , as well as a deputy member of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and the Committee on Constitutional Affairs .

Private

Gwendoline Delbos-Corfield has four children and lives in Saint-Hilaire (Isère) .
