The Walldorf high school is a public high school in Walldorf (Baden) . Together with the Theodor-Heuss-Realschule located in the same building, it forms the Walldorf school center, to which an additional building (called the “ pavilion ”) for music and art lessons and a sports hall are connected.

The catchment area for the grammar school includes the communities of Walldorf (Baden) , St. Leon-Rot and Reilingen , but many of the students also come from other neighboring towns such as Neulußheim, Leimen and Nußloch.

Special features of the high school include: well-equipped rooms for the natural sciences, the string class offered for grades 5 and 6, numerous music and art groups and cooperation with local companies and foundations such as the Dietmar Hopp Foundation and SAP . In addition, the school has a full-day program and enjoys the status of an accredited base school for molecular biology in the area of the Karlsruhe regional council.

Case of Henri

In 2014, the Walldorf grammar school hit the headlines nationwide when a student with Down's syndrome was supposed to be admitted to inclusion at the request of the parents as part of a school trial . At the time, the school refused to accept the student, while two other children with disabilities (who, unlike Henri , were aiming for the general university entrance qualification ) were accepted. The rejected student has been attending the neighboring secondary school since 2015.
