Gyula Zsengellér
Gyula Zsengellér [ ˈɟulɒ ˈʒɛŋɡɛleːr ] (born December 27, 1915 in Cegléd , † March 29, 1999 in Nicosia ) was a Hungarian football player .
Career
The striker Zsengellér played for Újpest Budapest from 1936 to 1947 and scored 387 goals during that time. He is still third in the all-time best list of the Hungarian league. In 1947/48 he became a professional in the Italian Serie A at AS Roma . After another move to Anconitana Ancona in 1949/50 , he went to South America in 1951 to the Colombian Club Deportivo Samarios . Here he ended his career in 1952.

For the Hungarian national football team , he took part in the 1938 World Cup in France . With his goals he played a major role in the Hungarians' runner-up world title. In the final they lost 4-2 to Italy . With six goals, Zsengellér was second in the scorers list behind the Brazilian Leônidas da Silva . In total, he made 39 international matches and scored 32 goals.
