Hägerstensåsen is an above-ground station on the Stockholm Metro . It is located in the Hägerstensåsen district of the same name . The station is served by the Röda linjen of the Stockholm metro system . It is one of the less frequented stations on the underground network. On a normal working day 5,000 commuters get on and off here.

The station was put into operation on April 5, 1964, when the first section of the Röda linjen between T-Centralen and Fruängen was inaugurated. The platforms are above ground in an elevated position, partly also in the Hägersten tunnel, which is approx. 400 meters long and leads in the direction of the Telefonplan station. The station is located between the Telefonplan and Västertorp stations . It is about seven kilometers to Stockholm Central Station .
