Jochen Mecke

Jochen Mecke (born December 11, 1956 in Recklinghausen ) is a German Romance studies and literary scholar .

Life

Jochen Mecke has held the chair for Spanish and French literary studies at the University of Regensburg since 1996 . In 1986 he was at the Department of Language and Literature of the University of Mannheim Dr. phil. PhD . In 1994 the habilitation followed in Heidelberg . After substituting professorships in Greifswald and Passau , he was appointed Professor of Romance Literature and Regional Studies (focus: France - Spain) in 1995. He is the head of the Research Center Spain, which opened in Regensburg in 2007.

Mecke is editor of the Mannheimer Papers on Linguistics and Literature Studies and a member of the Advisory Board of the journal Poetics Today .

Jochen Mecke was the spokesman for the graduate program “Cultures of Lies”, which has now ended.

From 2013 to 2015, Mecke was Dean of the Faculty of Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies and is now a member of the Senate of the University of Regensburg.
