Héctor Beltrán Leyva

Héctor Beltrán Leyva (born February 15, 1965 in Badiraguato , Mexico, † November 18, 2018 in Toluca , Mexico) alias El Ingeniero or El H , was a Mexican drug trafficker who was the chief chief of Beltrán-Leyva from 2009 until his arrest in 2014 -Cartel supposed to have been. For his capture, the US government offered a reward of five million US dollars and the Mexican government two million US dollars. He has been on the list of the 37 most wanted drug lords in Mexico since 2009 .

The Beltrán Leyva brothers were among the best-known drug traffickers in the Sinaloa cartel until they split off in January 2008 under the leadership of Arturo Beltran Leyva. After he was shot dead by the Mexican Navy on December 16, 2009 , his brother Héctor was the top drug lord of the Beltrán-Leyva cartel.

On October 1, 2014, he was arrested in San Miguel de Allende in the central Mexican state of Guanajuato . As a result, he was imprisoned in the Altiplano maximum security prison . After complaining of chest pain on November 18, 2018, he was admitted to a hospital in Toluca . Only his death could be determined there, the cause was a heart attack .
