Héctor Mario López
Héctor Mario López (born May 7, 1930 - October 18, 2015 ) was a Guatemalan general.
López held the post of Chief of the General Staff of the Army during the reign of Efraín Ríos Montt between 1982 and 1983 .

López had been charged with genocide and crimes against humanity since 2000, based on the 1999 report by the Truth Commission Comisión para el Esclarecimiento Histórico . López is said to have been responsible for more than 200 massacres of the civilian population, mostly members of the Mayas . He was arrested on June 17, 2011 in Guatemala City .
