Hélène Flautre

Hélène Flautre (born July 29, 1958 in Bapaume ) is a French politician ( Les Verts ). She is currently a member of the European Parliament .

career

Hélène Flautre completed her university studies as a civil engineer in 1980 and worked from 1981 to 1991 as a mathematics teacher. In 1989 she joined the French Greens .

From 1989 to 1992 she was councilor of Arras , then to 1998 as a consultant in the Bureau of the Regional Council of Nord-Pas-de-Calais by Marie-Christine Blandin responsible for cultural affairs.

In the European elections of 1999 , she was on the of Daniel Cohn-Bendit mentioned list of the Greens in the European Parliament elected. In 2004 she was re-elected at the top of the list of Greens in the Nord-Ouest constituency. At that time she was a member of the delegation for relations with the Maghreb countries and the Arab Maghreb Union and the delegation to the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly and, since 2004, she has chaired the subcommittee on human rights .

In 2001 she was re-elected as councilor for Arras.

In the period from 2009 onwards, Flautre took on the following tasks as an EU parliamentarian: She is chair of the delegation in the EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee .

She is also a member of the Conference of Delegation Chairs , the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and the delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean . As a deputy, Flautre works in the Committee on Foreign Affairs and in the Delegation for relations with the Maghreb countries and the Arab Maghreb Union .
