The Höfner Shorty is a small travel and practice electric guitar with a full scale , built by the German musical instrument manufacturer Höfner . First released in 1982 as Shorty 180 and built in Bubenreuth ( Bavaria ) until 1986 , it was reissued as Shorty-CT in 2005 and manufactured in China (with the exception of the electric bass version).
construction
The Shorty is a solid body electric guitar that is only 82 cm long . The body was made of solid mahogany for the 180 series . The bolted to the body neck , also of mahogany, wearing a aufgeleimtes fretboard of rosewood with 24 frets . As fret markings, white points are embedded on and on the side of the fingerboard. The model has an electromagnetic pickup in double coil construction ( English humbucker ) from the manufacturers Shadow or Schaller as well as encapsulated mini tuning machines from Schaller. The electronics consist of a volume control and tone control .
The neck of the newly released Shorty CT is made of Asian maple wood and the fingerboard is made of rosewood.
Executions
The electric guitar is available with and without a built-in amplifier. An electric bass version was built under the designation 187 / II , the Shorty Bass . The 180 series of the Höfner Shorty was also available as a kit . The wooden parts were untreated, all the necessary parts from the screws to the strings were included in the kit.
