Dath writes portraits of 20 important mathematicians, but not biographies, but individual scenes or fictionalized conversations. Among those portrayed in this way are Georg Cantor , Francis Bacon , Henri Poincaré , Emmy Noether , Stephen Wolfram , Edward Witten and Andrej Nikolajewitsch Kolmogorow .
