Hülya Koçyiğit (born December 12, 1947 in Istanbul ) is an important Turkish actress . She has won several awards at the Antalya Film Festival and has appeared in over 190 films, some of which have received international attention.

Life

Koçyiğit comes from a Bulgarian immigrant family. She grew up in Ankara and Istanbul. After attending school, she studied ballet at the Ankara State Conservatory.

She had her first appearances in theaters in Istanbul. After a beauty contest, she made her debut in Turkish film in 1964 . The film Trockener Sommer won the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival in 1964 . As a result, she played in numerous, internationally acclaimed, films and some TV series. From 2009 she was an actress in the Turkish version of the US sitcom Golden Girls .

In April 2013, it was by the then Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a "committee of wise men" appointed commission specified that the then sought peaceful end to the conflict with the Kurdish PKK civil society should accompany ultimately remained but quite ineffective.

Since 1968 she has been married to the soccer player Selim Soydan , with whom she has a daughter.
