The Hünensteine ​​near Axstedt are located northwest of the village of Axstedt in the joint municipality of Hambergen in the Elbe-Weser triangle in Lower Saxony on the Hünengräberweg in the remains of a former hill. The passage grave with the Sprockhoff no. 620 was created between 3500 and 2800 BC. BC in the Neolithic as a megalithic system of the funnel beaker culture(TBK). The passage grave is a form of Neolithic megalithic systems, which consists of a chamber and a structurally separated, lateral passage. This form is primarily found in Denmark, Germany and Scandinavia, as well as occasionally in France and the Netherlands. Neolithic monuments are an expression of the culture and ideology of Neolithic societies. Their origin and function are considered to be the hallmarks of social development.

The twelve lateral bearing stones and the two keystones of the eight meter long and 1.4 meter wide chamber ( Emsland chamber type ) are largely preserved in situ . Of the former six capstones, only the one at the western end of the chamber has survived. The access to the chamber was in the middle of the south side, two bearing stones of the corridor have been preserved.

At the turn of the century, various digs were carried out in the chamber. Some ceramic fragments were found, but essential findings have not been passed down.
