Christine Gläser (* in Bobingen ) is a German diplomat who was Consul General in Barcelona from 2008 to 2012 and Ambassador to Luxembourg from 2012 to 2016 .

Life

After graduating from high school in Bavaria , Christine Gläser first studied history , art history and English at the University of Paris between 1970 and 1971 and then studied law and the Russian language at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , the University of Geneva and the Eberhard University Karls University of Tübingen , which she graduated with the First State Examination in 1976.

After the subsequent legal clerkship from 1977 to 1979 in Munich and Stuttgart , she joined the Foreign Service in April 1979 and passed the second state examination in July 1979. After working at the embassy in South Korea from 1983 to 1986 , she worked at the embassy in Morocco , then from 1988 to 1992 at the embassy in Switzerland .

Between 1992 and 1999, Christine Gläser was a consultant in the cultural department of the Foreign Office in Bonn and then an employee at the embassy in Great Britain , before working at the permanent representation at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg from 2001 to 2004 . After she was head of department for bilateral cultural relations with countries of Europe and Central Asia at the Foreign Office in Berlin between 2004 and 2007 , she took part in a diplomatic exchange in the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Relations and Cooperation in Madrid in 2008 .

Since July 3, 2008, Christine glasses was Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Barcelona, ​​after receiving her exequatur on June 17, 2008. She succeeded Wolf Daerr , who was appointed ambassador to Costa Rica . In July 2012 she was followed by Bernhard Brasack , the previous Consul General in Wroclaw , as Consul General in Barcelona.

Then Christine glasses was established in July 2012 as the successor to Hubertus von Morr , who in retirement came, Ambassador to Luxembourg . She held this office until 2016.
