Wolf Daerr

Wolf Daerr (* 1948 ) is a German diplomat and has been an ambassador to Cuba since 2010 . Before that he was ambassador to Costa Rica from 2008 to 2010 .

biography

After High School in 1968 and completing his military service in the army , he studied from 1970 to 1976 Law and graduated in 1976 with the First Legal State Examination from. From 1976 to 1978 he was a research assistant at the chair for public law at the Ruhr University Bochum .

In 1978 he entered the diplomatic service and, after completing his training as an attaché, was employed at the headquarters of the Foreign Office in Bonn from 1980 to 1981 . During this time took place in 1980 and his doctorate to Dr. iur. In the following period he worked at the Consulate General in Calcutta between 1981 and 1984 and then again at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After working for the German delegation at the CSCE in Vienna from 1986 to 1988, he worked at the embassy in Chile until 1991 .

In 1991 he returned to the headquarters of the Foreign Office and was Deputy Head of Unit there before being employed at the Embassy in France from 1995 to 1999 . After working as permanent representative of the ambassador in Mexico , he was head of division in the Federal Foreign Ministry between 2002 and 2005 . Then he was Consul General in Barcelona until 2008 .

From 15 July 2008 to 2010 was Wolf Daerr as successor to the retiring came Volker Fink Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Costa Rica . From September 2010 to 2013 he was ambassador to Cuba . His successor was Peter Rudolf Scholz .
