Volker Fink

Volker Fink (born January 19, 1943 in Leipzig ) is a former German diplomat .

Life

After completing an apprenticeship as a businessman at IBM Germany, he studied business administration at the Free University of Berlin and the Complutense University in Madrid , followed by postgraduate studies at the German Development Institute in Berlin. After joining the Foreign Service in 1972, he worked at the embassies in the USA, Bolivia, India, Ecuador and Australia. Later Volker Fink was envoy at the embassy in Spain. Most recently, he worked in the Political and Economic Departments of the Foreign Office and at the Federal Press Office. From 2004 until his retirement in 2008 was Fink ambassador in San José ( Costa Rica ).
