Hubertus von Morr

Hubertus von Morr (born September 6, 1947 in Berlin ) is a former German diplomat and was last ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Luxembourg between August 2006 and July 2012 .

Life

After studying law at the universities of Bonn and Geneva , which he in 1976 with the promotion of Dr. jur. with a dissertation on the subject of the existence of German citizenship after the basic contract , he worked as a research assistant at the chair for international law at the University of Bonn (1973 to 1976).

After joining the Foreign Service in 1977, he was employed in the Department for Berlin and Germany Policy in the Foreign Office in Bonn, as a press attaché at the Embassy in Turkey, as Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Houston / Texas (1984 to 1986) and in the department for the NATO at the Foreign Office in Bonn. From 1989 to 1991, Dr. von Morr joined the German delegation at the CFE negotiations (negotiations on conventional armed forces in Europe) in Vienna.

From 1991 to 1993, Dr. von Morr Deputy Head of the Department for America and Security Policy in the Federal Chancellery and then until 1995 Head of the Department for Public Relations of the Federal Chancellor abroad in the Federal Chancellery. As such, he was the author of speeches by the Federal Chancellor and a contributor to political planning. Since August 2006, Dr. Hubertus von Morr ambassador in Luxembourg and thus successor to Roland Lohkamp , who instead became ambassador to Romania . In July 2012, Christine Gläser , the previous Consul General in Barcelona , succeeded him as Ambassador to Luxembourg.

Since February 2010, von Morr has also been a lecturer in international law at the University of Trier .
