Hut jug

The hut pot was a volume measure for determining the size of hollow cast parts in foundries .

The specialty of the measure lay in the measurement of the amount of the molding compound (sand, clay ) during the production of the casting mold. This amount was the prerequisite for determining the price of the casting. The measure was used in Saxony and Bohemia . A Dresden jug had 0.93559 liters .
