The HAL Pushpak is a trainer aircraft from the Indian manufacturer Hindustan Aeronautics .

History and construction

The Pushpak was developed at the request of the Indian air sports clubs. She was a braced high-wing aircraft that was developed and built on the basis of the Aeronca Chief . The fuselage consisted of welded steel tubes and aluminum wings with wooden ribs and was completely covered with fabric. The two-seater machine had a tail wheel chassis and was powered by a Continental piston engine with 67 kW. During the Indo-Pakistani War in 1971, many pushpaks were used by the army.
