The HAL Krishak is an observation aircraft from the Indian manufacturer Hindustan Aeronautics .

History and construction

The Krishak is a stripped high-wing aircraft with a conventional tail unit and fixed tail wheel landing gear and was originally developed as an enlarged four-seater version of the HAL Pushpak . Two prototypes were built, the first flying in November 1959 and the second in November 1960. Since there was initially no interest in buyers, development was ended. It was only when the Indian Army issued a request for a military observation aircraft to replace the Auster AOP that the project was continued and modified according to the requirements. From 1965 the production of the Krishak Mk. II took place , which were used until the mid-1970s and then replaced by the HAL Cheetah .
