The Ilyushin Il-276 ( Russian Ильюшин Ил-276 ; formerly Ilyushin Il-214 ) is a transport aircraft under development by the Russian manufacturer Ilyushin . The Russian project name is MTS , Mnogozelewoi transportny samoljot (Многоцелевой транспортный самолёт), for multi-purpose transport aircraft .
The aircraft is intended as a replacement for the aging Antonov An-12 , An-26, and An-32 ; In contrast to these turboprop aircraft, it is a jet aircraft . A demand of 105 pieces is expected for Russia.
history
The program originally started as a joint Russian-Indian project. The Indian Air Force had announced a need for 45 aircraft of this type. In addition to HAL with 35% of the development, the Russian aircraft manufacturer Irkut was also involved as a third partner .
The cooperation agreement between Ilyushin and Hindustan was signed as early as 2001, but development was initially slow for various reasons.
India dropped out of the program in spring 2016. It will be continued as a purely Russian project. In 2017 the project was in the conception phase and in 2018 the final configuration of the type was still open. A first flight was aimed for in 2023, which meant that series production would not start before 2026. There was a need to hurry as the aircraft was also supposed to replace the Luftwaffe's An-12 , all of which had been built before 1974.
Technical specifications
So far only a few technical data are known. The aircraft should have a maximum take-off weight of 55 t and a maximum payload of 18.8 t. The range in this case is 2500 km, with a payload reduced to 4.5 t, 6000 km is possible. The top speed is set at 850 km / h, the cruising speed at 800 km / h. With a length of 33.2 m and a wingspan of 30.1 m, it is slightly larger than the aircraft to be replaced.
Initially, Awiadwigatel PS 90A1 turbofan engines are to be used as engines . Awiadwigatel PD-14 M is to be given to later production aircraft .
