Awiadwigatel PS-90
The Aviadwigatel PS-90 is a Russian aircraft engine . It is a twin-shaft turbofan engine designed by Awiadwigatel and manufactured by Perm Engine Company in Perm , Russia . PS stands for the chief designer Pavel Solovyov .
development
The engine was approved for the first time in 1992 and was designed for a mean time between overhaul of 8000 hours.
Further design goals were low fuel consumption through a large bypass flow ratio as well as an exhaust mixer, a noise-reducing exhaust and a digital engine control ( FADEC ).
The engine powers the following aircraft: Ilyushin Il-96 , the variants of the Tupolev-Tu-204/214 family , and the Ilyushin Il-76 MF / TF. A modernized variant of the Ilyushin Il-76MD / TD generation, the Ilyushin Il-76TD-90WD or Ilyushin Il-76MD-90, is also powered by this engine.
A modified variant PS-90EU-25 is used to generate energy in the GS-25 power plant .
variants
There are three variants: the original PS-90A, the PS-90A-76 and an improved version PS-90A2.
PS-90A
The original PS-90A is the engine for the Ilyushin Il-96 and the Tupolev-Tu-204/214 family. The starting thrust is 157 kN .
PS-90A-76
This modification of the PS-90A with a nominal 142 kN thrust was developed to replace the original Solovyov D-30 KP of the Ilyushin Il-76 cargo aircraft. The version called Ilyushin Il-76MF or Il-76TD-90WD is quieter (thus approved for flights to Western Europe), more economical and has a greater range.
PS-90A2
The PS-90A2 is a modernized version of the PS-90A. Western components and electronic controls allow lower weight, higher performance and 40% lower maintenance costs. It is the first Russian engine to be approved for ETOPS -180 min.
