Perm Engine Company
The Perm Engine Plant ( Joint Stock Company UEC - Perm Engines ; ODK - Permskie Motory in Russian Пермский моторный завод / АО "ОДК-Пермские моторы" ) is a Russian manufacturer of gas turbines and aircraft engines . It is located in the city of Perm in the western Urals .
The Perm Engine Company was founded in 1997 as a subsidiary and successor to Perm Motors and took over its gas turbine production and the tradition of aircraft engine construction that has been going on since 1934 . It is part of the United Engine Corporation (UEC or АО ОДК (ODK) ) holding .
In close cooperation with the Aviadwigatel design office , which was founded by Arkady Dmitrijewitsch Schwezow , radial engines have been produced since 1934 . In World War II engines were manufactured over 32,000.
Jet engines have been produced for various aircraft manufacturers since the 1950s .
