The Hockey Club Kassel e. V. ( HCK ) is a sports club from Kassel .

history

Predecessor clubs and independence

Hockey in Kassel was first mentioned in the Cassel Football Club CFV in 1910, when women played this sport for the first time two years after the establishment of the German Hockey Association (DHB) on the meadows on Frankfurter Strasse . In the next few years they formed 3 hockey teams that were extraordinarily strong. Since 1914 there has also been a men's team that was only able to become active again after the First World War . In 1919 the club was transformed into Sportverein Kurhessen 1893 e. V. renamed.

The SV Kurhessen Kassel was formally dissolved by the Allies in 1945, and in 1947 the members merged with other clubs to form KSV Hessen Kassel. The following years were characterized by a very active department in the major sports club. In 1950 the bomb crater-strewn C-Platz was self-made so that it could be put back into operation with a game against a British military selection. In 1963, the first men's team was promoted to the Hessian league for the first time, from which they were relegated after four years. Since 1963 the Hessian indoor hockey championships have also been taken part. On September 16, 1981, the first artificial hockey pitch in Kassel was inaugurated with the international match between Germany and India, final score 3: 3. Further international matches followed in Kassel, on July 30, 1983, Germany - Poland (3: 1). In the 1990s, the men of KSV Hessen Kassel played in the Oberliga, at that time the third highest league in Germany.

On June 28, 1993 the Hockey Club Kassel e. V. spun off from KSV Hessen , because the threatening bankruptcy of the mother association was recognizable.

In 2012, after 2 years of construction, the first own sports function building was put into operation, which was included in the selection list for the 2013 Architecture Day in Hesse.
