HC Währing

The Hockey Club Währing was an Austrian ice hockey club from Währing , the 18th district of Vienna , which was founded in 1925 as the Währing youth game club within the Vienna Youth Welfare Association . In January 1926 he was accepted as a member of the Austrian ice hockey association .

In the 1926/27 season the club played in the 3rd group of the 2nd class of the Vienna Championship. In 1927/28 the club was divided into group A of the 2nd class and took 3rd place there.

In October 1928 it was renamed Ice Hockey Club Währing (EHC Währing). The club kept this name until December 1930 and from then on was called Hockeyclub Währing (HC Währing).

In 1928/29 and 1929/30 the team remained in group A of the 2nd class and in 1930 reached first place in this division. The club was promoted to Group B in 1st class before the 1930/31 season and was henceforth active in the top Austrian division, the 1st class of the Vienna Championship, until he left the ice hockey association in December 1936. In the first class, he achieved the following placements: in 1932 second place, 1933 third place, 1934 second place, as well as 1935 . Before the 1935/36 season , the Vienna League was introduced above the 1st class , so that HC Währing played in the second division and took first place in this.

In December 1936, all HC Währing players were released and registered with the WEV. In the championship 1936/37, the HC Währing did not provide a team. As a result, the board of the Austrian ice hockey association decided in December 1937 to remove HC Währing from the list of club members with effect from December 18, 1936.
