HDX4

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

HDX4 is a MPEG-4 - video codec of the German company Jomigo . The codec was the fastest MPEG-4 codec in the test field in comparative tests by a specialist magazine and the Doom9 website in 2005, but this comes at the price of relatively low coding efficiency. It is compatible with DivX , Xvid and Nero Digital , among others .

The MPEG-4 implementation in HDX4 follows the guidelines of the ISO / IEC-14496-2 specifications and thus implements the so-called Simple Profile and Advanced Simple Profile.

The "HDX4 Movie Creator" suite is available as a bundle. This software is primarily intended to be optimized for creating videos for portable devices, but it can also be used to create professional videos in high definition or for streaming solutions in MP4 format.

So far, the codec has been more widely used in the commercial environment, including at Lufthansa or Fraunhofer IGD in Darmstadt, who use it to implement the Communitrust video conference solution. Numerous end-user products such as MovieJack can also use the codec to convert videos, for example for content for use on the PlayStation Portable or in the mobile phone ( 3GPP format.)

SDKs are available for the integration of MPEG4, H.264, AAC, AMR-NB, G.726, 3GP, MP4, ASF, upscaling and optimization functions.
