HD 179949 b is an exoplanet that orbits the yellow dwarf HD 179949 every 3.092514 days . Due to its high mass , it is assumed that it is a gas planet .

discovery

The planet was determined using the radial velocity method by CG Tinney , R. Paul Butler , Geoffrey Marcy et al. discovered in 2000 .

Circulation and mass

The planet orbits its star at a distance of approx. 0.0443 astronomical units with an eccentricity of 2.2% and has a mass of approx. 291.2 earth masses or 0.916 Jupiter masses.
